Fishing Tournament

Format: This tournament is a one day event (24 hours) there will be three categories. Modified IGFA rules apply. Rod & reel only. No Hand Lines. Ten Boats holding four fishermen on each boat will set sail on the 15th of October 2009 and return on the 16th of October. There will be Thee categories one with the following format.

Category One: Offshore

Most points per pound. Two largest fish from each species are eligible to be weighed. One point per pound with a 15 pound minimum weight for the following species: Yellow fin Tuna, Dogtooth Tuna, Long Tail Tuna, Big Eye Tuna, Wahoo, Narrow Bared Mackerel, Mahi-Mahi, Cobia.

Swordfish is a separate division:
Swordfish division: One point per pound with an 80 pound minimum weight or 80 points for a Swordfish tag & Release.

Prizes for Category One:

Boat/team division: Two heaviest from each species

1st place boat/team: Most combined weight
2nd place boat/team: most combined weight
3rd place boat/team: Most combined weight

Big Fish division: One prize for biggest fish of each eligible species

1st place biggest Yellow Fin Tuna
1st place biggest Dogtooth Tuna
1st place biggest Long Tail Tuna
1st place biggest Wahoo
1st place biggest Narrow Barred Mackerel
1st place biggest Mahi Mahi
1st place biggest Cobia

Swordfish Division: 80 pound minimum weight. Can weigh one fish only. 80 points for any released Swordfish (must have photo verification with fish in water)

1st place most Swordfish combined points
2nd place most Swordfish combined points
3rd place most Swordfish combined points
Special prize for angler with most Swordfish release

Catagory Two: Tag & Release

Most billfish Tagged and released. Eligible species are Sailfish any Marlin or spearfish. 500 points for any Marlin release. 200 points for any sailfish or spearfish release.

Prizes for category two:

1st place boat/team most release points
2nd place boat/team most release points
3rd place boat/team most release points
Special prize for angler who catches the first Blue, Black or Striped Marlin

Category Three: Inshore

Most points per pound. Minimum weight of 5 pounds. Can weigh three heaviest fish from the following species. Snapper, Grouper

Boat/Team division:

1st place boat/team: most combined weight
2nd place boat/team: most combined weight
3rd place boat/team: most combined weight

Big fish division:

1st place biggest Grouper
1st place biggest Snapper
